North Bay residents will have the opportunity to meet emergency responders, browse safety information kiosks and watch emergency response drills at Northern Sonoma County Fire and Earthquake Safety Expo 2021 on Saturday at Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds.
A day-long program of emergency preparedness and safety training activities runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and begins with a pancake breakfast provided by the Cloverdale Kiwanis Club in the outdoor arcade , followed by a community emergency response team disaster simulation exercise in the outdoor simulation area.
The kiosks will offer safety information, including a demonstration of household sprinklers and demonstrations of attic burns and fire retardants. Ice cream and snow cones will be offered from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. for children only and various groups will entertain throughout the exhibit, including the Blue 7 Jazz Band and Cherry Creek Rock ‘n Roll Band, both on the outdoor stage.
Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore will be on-site at 12:30 p.m. for the CERT graduation and swearing-in and a public meeting on the Cloverdale Community Forest Fire Protection Plan of 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the commercial room.
